In reply to Julie Clark. when i mixed the apples with the cinnamon and sugar and left them to make the batter by the time i went to put them into the pan there was liquid at the bottom of the bowl. i drained this.

In reply to Linda. No, you don't drain them. There shouldn't be anything to drain, as you just have sugar coated apples. Or maybe I'm not understanding correctly?

Question: do you drain the apples before adding to the cake then pour the apple juices over the cake before baking? Thanks for your prompt response.. Linda

Love this recipe. It mixes the apples so it looks pretty when cut
