Have you found the perfect holiday donut for all those little kids? If not, look now further! Enjoy these soft, sugary, mini semi-homemade gingerbread donuts, for the whole family!
To make donuts, whisk the cake mix, ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves together. Whisk until evenly combined.
Add to the dry ingredients the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and molasses. Mix until just incorporated.
Pour batter into a greased mini donut pan. This is difficult to do straight from the mixing bowl. I recommend spooning batter into a big zipper bag, sealing it closed, and cutting a small hole in the corner. Then you can squeeze the mixture more easily into the donut holes. Do not fill holes more than halfway, as these will rise a lot.
Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
While the donuts are baking, make sugar coating by stirring together sugar, cinnamon, and ginger.
Roll hot donuts into sugar mixture (cooled donuts won’t stick as well).
